Detroit Murals in the Market

Recently some of the SprATX family had the opportunity to make the trek up to Detroit, MI for Murals in the Market (MITM) organized and produced by our incredible friends at 1xRUN. In it’s third year, with over 50 local and international artists, it’s safe to say that the week-long mural festival goes down as one of our favorite experiences to date. It was both culturally and creatively inspiring and invigorated each of us to continue to embody their unofficial motto, and a badass clothing line, “Detroit Hustles Harder” every day.  Our experience of Detroit was that of total awe. […]

Promoting Events Through Live Art

SprATX’s journey started in 2013 as a small screen printing business in Austin, TX consisting of just a few super talented artists with one goal in mind—to spread art through the heart of Texas, and beyond. Fast forward four years, now we are a happy family of free-thinking, creative artists and have made our dream into a reality that can be seen throughout the best city in the country. While screen printing for T-shirts was how it all began, we didn’t stop there. SprATX brought into Austin, #ATXFreeArtFriday, one of Austin’s most popular festivals that we get to celebrate the […]

Interview :: H.A.M Houston

We recently took a visit to Houston, TX and made a stop at the H.A.M museum (Harrisburg Arts Museum) in east downtown to check out the warehouse covered in graffiti art. The project is curated by Daniel Anguilu. On one side there are murals created by various artists with no rhyme or reason (but dope AF) however if you venture to the back side of the warehouse, you will notice all the bay doors spell out “Houston, Texas” with each letter being created by a different artist. The inside of the warehouse is also filled with murals however we showed up on an […]

Casual. Intense. Freedom

An Interview with Anthony Lister By: Zuzu Perkal We caught wind that street artist, Anthony Lister was spending some time in Austin, so we did what we always do. We reached out. We invited him to the SprATX shop to shoot the shit and ended up doing a mini interview and in the process learned some pretty rad things about the artist and life itself. When he rolled up to SprATX adorned in all black, unruly bleach-blonde hair, and sunglasses that made me feel like I had suddenly time-travelled into the future, I knew we were going to get along just fine and our conversation was going to […]

9 Things You Probably Don’t Know About SprATX

1. SprATX is lean but fierce. SprATX is an artist collective-gallery-art supply boutique-apparel line-artist management agency-event space. We tried to keep it simple, but it’s just not in the cards for us. We’ve recently simplified it to “artist agency” to cover all our bases. The best part is we keep all of it’s working parts moving forward with only 9 employees. Our limited number of worker bees buzz hour after hour, day after day to make sure all the operations and services are taken care of with quality and care. We’re truly grateful for everyone on the team that makes […]

Artist Interview :: Tony “Anti” Diaz

INTERVIEW WITH :: TONY DIAZ, OWNER OF INDUSTRY PRINT SHOP  INTERVIEWED BY :: ZUZU Tony Diaz was born in January 1980 in San Antonio, Texas. He grew up in love with music and fed his obsession with lessons, playing in bands, and listening to records. As he grew older he started to participate in the punk rock scene, enjoying the D.I.Y. aesthetic and the attitude. This new perspective fueled his creative drive leading to his move to Austin, TX, and forming a record label that he would ultimately use to begin his visual art career. The label required design work, and Tony drew on his past making cut […]
